RoFC Force One Town Player Out of The Game

RoFC have started to crack down in their landclaim leading to them noobringing at least one 1 town player causing said player to abandon.

Jenny's growth charts
Jenny likely used her Tenaril's Spell of Ultimate Teleportation to move into Farshards, not knowing about the landclaim. She had never joined an alliance (judging by her username, she intended to remain unattached) meaning she had no support against RoFC.

The people in RoFC who sieged Jenny were Saxon and Moksha as she faced a double siege.

After the sieges landed, Jenny abandoned and she has since been noobringed.

Within hours of this happening, Snot of RoFC was in GC talking about how RoFC were going to 'Make Illyriad Great Again'. When I brought up Jenny being forced out of the game, I was described as 'fake news' and a 'troll'.

Many others in GC joined me in my public criticism of RoFC but when did people even start to think this was OK? RoFC has had a history of attacking small, largely defenceless accounts; that's what led to the Hobblez situation that has also been reported on here. This is not a one off, this is how RoFC act.

I'm going to be messaging every single non-RoFC aligned player in the RoFC landclaims of Farshards and Lapo'a Lua offering them aid with moving and a place in Cala or VAST if they want. If you would like to support those who are facing a similar situation to that of Jenny the Hermit, get your alliance leader to send me an IGM and I will add you to the list of people taking in those who are being assaulted by RoFC.

EDIT:
Iron have cancelled a NAP with RoFC, saying that they do not wish to be associated with RoFC anymore.

  2. The RoFC has always been an honorable alliance. If you work with them, they work with you. You are kine to them, they are kind to you.

  3. I can add some good things about RoFC as far as the Hobblez situation went. From what I know when it started Neptune had camped a kill near a player called Ozrik who lost skinners on the site, I don't know the details of that but undoubtedly Nep had not intentionally killed them. Ozrik was, I will say, a sassy player who completely outmatched Neptune on a 1v1 level even before we found out he had a likely alt. The deal between them escalated until diplos were being sent. Neptune felt pretty overwhelmed and basically had a vendetta at this point and asked for alliance help. It was around this point we found out about the alt Rijk who sent a siege train attack at Neptune. As a young alliance this was pretty shocking and we basically were now at war with Oz/Rijk.

Although at least I was intimidated by the two 8 city accounts it quickly turned out they didn't match up to us at all and ran to Loki, having an old alliance mate in the alliance. Ozrik told Loki Rijk was away from the game for a few weeks and a different player than himself, both of which I doubt considering the names and that the Rijk account sent the siege train, though you can't know for sure.

This is where it fell apart for RoFC. Loki told us any attacks on Oz/Rijk would be considered acts of war between us until Rijk was back. AdamPrime was an aggressive player and also very much a new leader at the time and mistakenly interpreted this as a declaration of war on us by Loki. So he declared we were at war with Loki without the Senate, as he basically thought they had declared on us in their message, assuming they knew as we thought that Rijk and Ozrik were one player and quite active. This was the reason Wulfhere sent a siege at Hobblez as a result of Adam's hotheaded but also reasonable-ish declaration that there was now war between RoFC and Loki in AC.

It was a bit shady of Loki to shelter Oz but RoFC's inexperience rather than lack of honour was the reason it went straight south. Both Adam and Neptune stated they would quit the alliance to continue the fight to avoid problems for the alliance, which Neptune obviously proved and I know Adam was willing to do so.

It was around that point I stress quit seeing a possible war come from a hunting dispute when I had joined Illyriad and RoFC aiming for a peaceful alliance. Checking back now it seems totally unbelievable that a billion gold was the price put out for those mistakes, bad as they were, and I don't blame any RoFC players for not finding it acceptable or believable, not to throw any shade at IKnights. As far as Jenny the Hermit goes, I will say it seems like what wasn't much deserved in terms of reputation or trouble for RoFC in Loki thing kind of was with her so maybe that's karma.

So anyway, I was Smopecakes and hello if any RoFCans remember me!

  4. The main reason for the price of 1bn gold being offered to the senate was that it acted as punishment for attacking a new account. The Maelstrom account at the time of the attacks had about 2 towns iirc so was not a valid target regardless of war status.

A senate vote on the payment was held in the discord server we had at the time rather than the google forms that were used as the senate at the time. This was because those involved included the president of the senate and 2 other senators so a place where they could have a significant impact on their own punishment was not deemed appropriate.

Despite mass mails about it, only 1 person who could vote turned up, Kimmyeo and she voted in favour of it. If she had voted against it then a new amount could have been suggested or it could have been decided to allow the matter to run its course.

It was hoped that it was a harsh enough punishment to deter those in RoFC who felt attacking new players was OK. Perhaps if Kimmyeo had not reversed her original stance on the payments, it would have been.

1bn gold, between 4 players, is hardly a lot to come up with especially given the age of the accounts involved.

  5. First annual update, lol: I have kept playing and personally payed 250 million to IKnights.

I still basically see the RoFC point of view in the Hobblez situation. There is no doubt that they were rightly punished for attacking small Loki players but the alliance was all new to war. They thought war meant everyone vs. everyone. AdamPrime declared war and Wulfhere and I believe the other senator both sent sieges at the nearest target - not intentionally going for small players, just the nearest on the orders of the Chancellor. I remember an alliance mail from him that was something like: "War, war without end, war until us or them are completely defeated".

AdamPrime and Neptune were fully emotionally invested in the fight against Ozrik. Neptune told me he considered it his account vs. Ozrik's down to the last town. I tried to talk him down but he was set. Loki even made a very reasonable proposal that Ozrik/Rijk would be sheltered for a few weeks while Rijk was "away" and hostilities could continue after that. Probably to give Ozrik a chance to build troops as he apparently had next to none. He landed no attacks on the siege against Rijk, the extent of his military attacks I know of were a crushed siege train attack on Neptune and 5000 cavalry against a blockade.

So, even though AdamPrime could easily have waited to continue the fight, he was overheated on Neptune's behalf and simply didn't know war should be between larger players. He thought it was all vs. all, and some of the alliance followed.

The attacks on Jenny and the other new player are certainly a different story though.
